Every camper’s story at Trailways Camps starts long before they arrive at camp. It starts with people who decided to care.
When a camper casts a line off the pier, sings around a campfire, or dances with new friends under the lights, a whole community is standing behind that moment. At Trailways Camps, we know we’re all better together, with every person and every organization bringing an important piece of the puzzle. Our sponsors are some of the most important pieces of all.
Our Camping Experience Sponsors help make every camp possible, from the first campfire to the final farewell. Riverside Retreat gives our campers a safe, beautiful place to call home for four days. Grampy’s Charities, the Golisano Foundation, and the United Way of Lee, Hendry & Glades help us reach more campers and families than ever before. The Sanctuary Golf Club Foundation, the Sanibel Captiva Lions Club, Aqua Systems, Sanibel Carts, MSJ Enterprises, and The Robert V. & Benjamin G. Miller Fund each bring their own gifts to camp, and their generosity shows up in countless ways.
Our faith partners are woven into the heart of camp. Captiva Chapel by the Sea, Sanibel Community Church, The Village Church at Shell Point, and Grace Fellowship Church at Babcock Ranch provide grant allocations, sponsorships, and volunteers who share their love with our campers. St. Michael’s Church on Sanibel opened its doors for our sold-out Valentine’s Bingo, and Sanibel Community Church, where our “I Am Special” celebration first began in Southwest Florida, has welcomed campers back again and again.
Our Vision Sponsors help us look even further ahead. We are eternally grateful to our Sustainers — the Collaboratory—(The Robert V. & Benjamin G. Miller Fund and an anonymous Donor Advised Fund holder), Grampy’s Charities, our Founders Sharon and Jerry Miller, The Brocker Foundation, The Sanctuary Golf Club Foundation, and The Village Church at Shell Point — for providing the steady foundation the camp is built on.
Our Advocates — Sanibel Community Church, The Golisano Foundation, The United Way Lee, Hendry & Glades, and Sanibel-Captiva, 100+ Women Who Care — help us grow into new opportunities like day camping and outreach to young adults.
And our Ambassadors — Kent and Linda Yoder — help carry our mission forward.
Because of them, campers in dire need of joyful community experiences and outdoor adventures are attending camp. Caregivers are getting the rest they need. And more adults with special needs are discovering a place where they truly belong.
To every sponsor and community partner: thank you for believing in our campers and for helping create “A Place Where You Are Something Special.”
