At Trailways Camps, the fun doesn’t end when camp does. Throughout the year, special events bring campers, families, volunteers, and friends back together to celebrate.
A Thanksgiving Feast to Remember
Every November, Trailways Camp gathers around the table for one of our favorite traditions: a Thanksgiving feast with campers, counselors, and volunteers. It’s a time to share a delicious meal, laugh with friends old and new, and give thanks for the community that makes camp feel like family.
In the spirit of the season, campers also give back. Last year, they packaged Thanksgiving sides for the food bank so more families in our community could enjoy a holiday meal too.
This year’s November camp runs November 16–19, 2026. We can’t wait to gather around the table again!
Valentine’s Bingo
Our first Valentine’s Bingo sold out last February, with a room full of friends, prizes, and camper stories shared from the heart. This fundraiser supports camp and shows our community what makes Trailways special. Join us for the 2nd Annual Valentine’s Bingo on February 4, 2027, at 5 p.m. at St. Michael’s Church on Sanibel.
“I AM Special” Camper Reunion and Birthday Party
This beloved tradition began in Austin, Texas, when our founders invited campers to celebrate their son Robert’s birthday. It moved with them to Southwest Florida, and in 2014 it grew to spotlight Benjamin’s birthday. Annually, it’s a joyful reunion for every camper and caregiver. From about 120 guests at the first gathering, it grew to 275 campers and caregivers in 2026.
All prior campers and caregivers are invited to “I AM Special” 2027 on April 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sanibel Community Church. Come to reconnect through games, music, dancing, awards, a Family Respite Drawing, the Joyful Spirit Awards, and a celebration of our campers’ Artistic Creations. Registration opens January 2027.
