New Ways to Come Back to Camp

Thanks to a $22,000 grant from Sanibel Captiva 100+ Women Who Care, Trailways Camps launched its first Day Camping Experiences on Sanibel in September 2026. These day camps bring the Trailways experience closer to home, with priority for returning campers from Sanibel and Captiva families and families of those who live or work on the islands. We look forward to expanding day camping to the greater Lee County area this spring. 

We’re also opening the door wider for campers who are waiting to return. More than 500 former campers are on our waiting list, and some have waited five to seven years.

Thanks to Grampy’s Charities and our $100K Match Campaign, which met its goal in June, our February 2027 overnight camp is dedicated to returnees. The camp is designed to reconnect campers with the friends, counselors, and memories that made camp special in the first place.
