In the first episode of the Trailways Talks podcast, our founders, Sharon and Jerry Miller, talk about how their sons, Robert and Benjamin, inspired the creation of Trailways Camps and how their legacy continues to grow. Board members and staff also share how overnight camps and new Day Camping experiences are helping adults with special needs and their caregivers strengthen their social, emotional, and spiritual relationships.
Enabling Adults with Special Needs to Grow
Trailways Camps was established to develop and provide camping experiences for adults with special needs and respite for their caregivers. Campers thrive on having fun, friends and support while parents and caregivers are able to rest, relax and enjoy some time for themselves. Our campers are encouraged to participate in all activities. We’ve found ways to adapt and adjust for each person, and we cheer them on to victories big and small. Camp is a place where everyone is special.
